This Sunday we will be singing a brand new song: it’s called Your Grace is Strong Enough.
In Isaiah 49 God says to his servant:
“It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
to restore the tribes of Jacob
and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”
God’s grace is so immense that all the nations on earth need to hear of it. It doesn’t do it justice if only one nation hears. When I started writing this song, I wrote some lines inviting the nations to come and join with us in praising God. But then I remembered that we are the nations! We are the ones who have been invited to join with God’s people in celebrating God’s grace. God’s plan in Isaiah 49 is good news for us! This is a song to help us celebrate that fact.
Your Grace is Strong Enough
Grace came down to seek and save
The lost were found and the dead were raised
Grace rang out, the nations come
In honour of the King
And when they gather
I will be there
And this will be my song:
Your grace is strong enough
Your arms are wide enough
Let the sinner call your name
We are lost without your grace
Your grace is deep enough
Finding every one of us
Every nation stand and say:
All our hope is in your grace!
Grace so strong it bursts the walls
The heart of God reaching out to all
Grace so loud it must be told
The hope of all the earth
A new day coming
Dawn will arise
The world will see your light
Your grace is strong enough…
The King is coming
Jesus, our Lord
And every knee will bow
And when I see him
This I will say:
Your love is better than life!
Your grace is strong enough…
