We celebrate Jesus’ birth at Christmas because he is the child of God promised who would make peace with God for people.

Lesson Background

God’s promise to David was ultimately fulfilled with the birth of Jesus, king of kings and the long awaited Messiah, into David’s line. The friendship between God and people had been broken right at the beginning of creation, all through the Old Testament God has been showing his people he has a plan for Salvation. The story of Jesus birth is the culmination of all the promises he has made. finally the Messiah, the Saviour has come.
