Big Idea – Jesus died to fix the problem of sin, to fix the friendship between us and God. He is now ruling the world in heaven with God.

Lesson Background
Jesus died to fix the problem of sin for us and instead of us to take the punishment we deserve, and to make peace with God. We know this to be true because of the resurrection. The resurrection is the proof that what God promises really is true because he defeats sin, death & Satan at his resurrection. After the resurrection Jesus was on earth for 40days before he taken up to heaven where is he now ruling at the right hand of God. During this period he opened up the disciples mind to understand the scriptures – that everything that was written about the Messiah has be fulfilled in and through Jesus.
Remember: The overall aim is to teach the kids that God had a plan and that plan was fulfilled in Jesus – his birth, death, resurrection and ascension.
Outcomes
Children will understand that is ruling the world with God right now. Even though we can’t see him, he is alive and ruling.
