Term 3 – Week 4

Big Idea – God’s Kingdom starts small but grows big as more people put their faith in Jesus.

Matthew 13:1-23

Lesson Background

This unit of work looks at God Big Kingdom. What does life look like in the Kingdom of God now and in the new creation? How do we become part of this Kingdom of God? How do we live as members of Gods kingdom through faith in Jesus Christ and what does it mean for eternity?

The Parable of the Mustard Seed & Yeast teaches us that God’s Kingdom starts small and doesn’t look flash, but grows to become a big tree and a loaf of bread. More people are being welcomed into to God’s Kingdom everyday across the globe, it doesn’t look like much but being part of God’s Kingdom through faith in Jesus is the biggest & best thing ever.

Outcomes

The children will understand what faith is and be encouraged to follow Jesus.

Help the children grasp that if they follow Jesus, they are just one of many across the whole world. God’s kingdom is growing every day.
