Term 1 – Week 4
Big Idea – God has a plan to save his people through Moses
Exodus 2 & 3
Jacob’s family, by this time is very large and have settled in Egypt. The Egyptians were quick to forget Joseph’s aid and became increasing concerned about the growth of the Israelites. Years of oppression was afflicted on the Israelites to stop them from growing and Hebrew baby boys were to be put to death.
But Moses escaped death by the compassion of the Egyptian king’s daughter and was given back to his mother to be cared for. Years later, God would empower Moses as leader and saviour of Israel.
- God is keeping his promises to Abraham through Moses. God always keeps his promises.
- God has a plan to save his people, even if it seems unlikely
