Term 3 – Week 08
Big Idea – Jesus, who is fully human, is the saviour of the world.
Hebrews 1 & 2
Outcomes
- To know that Jesus was fully human yet was without sin, so we look to Jesus in order to understand what it means to be human.
- To understand that Jesus in his humanity fulfilled God’s original purpose for man, to rule over creation.
- To appreciate that Jesus restores the relationship between God and sinful humanity. Jesus is both the go between us and God and the acceptable sacrifice for our sin because he was fully human.
Implications
- Belief – If we want to understand what a full and flourishing life looks like, then we need to look at Jesus. Do we trust the God of the bible and his Son Jesus Christ or do we trust the world?
- Behaviour – If we are to know the full and flourishing life of a human, then we must turn and repent and follow Jesus. The life that follows Jesus is the flourishing life.
Memory Verse
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,he is a new creation; the old has gone and the new has come!
2 Corinthians 5:17
