Big Idea – God pronounces his just judgement upon his creation because of sin. *
Genesis 3 & Romans 6
*Remember: Sin is the rejection & disregard for God & His Word which results in alienation from Him. This is the opposite of Rest.
Outcomes
- To know that God pronounces his just (fair) judgement upon creation because of sin.
- To understand that the ultimate verdict of God’s judgment upon sinful humanity is death. This death is physical death & everlasting death. Sinners, therefore cannot not live as a full flourishing human now or in eternity.
- To appreciate that the whole of creation is now affected by sin, this includes; the earth, our relationships, our bodies & our minds.
Implications
- Belief – Who will we listen too? The world, which is full of sin, death & Satan’s lies!? Ourselves, who are sinners? Or God, who is revealed to us in the Scriptures through Jesus? Keep encouraging the kids to come back to the Scriptures as it is only in the Scriptures that we find out what it means to be truly human.
- Behaviour – Encourage repentance of sin and recognition of God’s just judgement.
