My name is Abby and I live with my Mum, Dad, big brother and big sister.

Abby is a part of our 10:45am service and is in our ‘Stackers’ group (age 7-9). This is her third blog showing us what she has got up to during this lockdown.

School days…

My brother has to go back to school next week. I’m glad that I don’t have to but I miss my friends and my teacher. Other than that, I do not want to go back to school! I do my schoolwork on Google classroom and its fun because if you have not done a lot of work you can just do it the next day. I like the online chat on Google classroom. I like typing on the computer for schoolwork and also taking photos of my work to upload it. At breaktime I play with my brother. We either kick the football around or have swordfights with our wooden swords that Grandpa made. My sword is better than Jamie’s.

Making and baking

I like making meringues and other baking. I like making meringues because they are really yummy and Mum wanted to find recipes that didn’t need flour. They are easy to make once you learn how to separate eggs. I like taking the meringues to my friends that I miss from church.

Last week it was very hot and I made milkshakes with Dad. We used milk, icecream, ice cubes, hot chocolate powder and Tim Tams (chocolate biscuits from Australia). The blender was loud because of the ice cubes. I couldn’t finish mine so I put it in the freezer. It was really good the next day.

Seeing friends

Yesterday we went for a long walk in the Common. We saw 4 different families that we knew. It was great to chat to them. Then we met my old Sunday School teacher in the park for a chat. She is not my teacher anymore because she had a baby who is so cute! It was nice to see her again and her baby is now bigger than when I saw him as a newborn.

Bible times

Before bedtime we read Explore the Bible. Mum bought it from The Good Book Company. I like doing the activities. It’s a booklet that has lots of activities in it, and there are Bible passages that you can read that help you figure out the Bible story. My favourite activities are the codes that you have to break. It came with a Bible timeline so you can work out when the story happened. We just finished Nehemiah and I learned about the 400 years of silence that came between the Old Testament and the New Testament.
