The planning application for the development of Dundonald Church has been submitted to Merton Council.
In redeveloping the site, our aim is to strengthen the capacity of Dundonald Church to serve God, teach the Bible and reach out to the local community as we have done over the past 25 years. The current building is becoming crowded with insufficient space for our various groups on Sundays and mid-week, and the building itself is in need of significant renovation. We hope that a new building will help us to teach our children more effectively, serve our congregations and the community better, and build a legacy for the future.
Planning application
Following consultation with local residents and with the relevant authorities over the last few months, we were able to submit our final planning application to the Council in late February 2017. Our application has now been registered by the Council and is available to view on the Merton Council Planning Portal: Dundonald Planning Application.
The Council are now running their own public consultation and we hope to receive a decision from them in late May/June.
Get involved
We would welcome your support to this building project. You can support us in the following ways:
- Please consider supporting the planning application by writing to Merton Council by 16th April. If you’d like to support the project, you could explain why the new development will be an improvement, describe some of the issues with the current building, and perhaps outline how the new development will better serve both the church and the local community. We hope you agree that the new design looks more like a church than the existing factory and that this will enhance the local area.
- Please pray for a positive response to the planning application and for the ongoing work of the project team.
- Please consider how you might be able to support the project financially. A giving form can be found here.
Thank you.
We will update these pages when we have feedback from Merton Council.
