Marriage Preparation
The Marriage Preparation course is three weeks long. It is designed to help couples who are engaged, or considering marriage, in exploring the biblical foundations of marriage and its practical realities.
Course overview:
- The nature of marriage. The main topic is the purpose of marriage in the one flesh union.
- The conduct of marriage. The main topic is the roles in marriage of headship and submission.
- The practice of marriage. The main topic is communication and conflict resolution.
We aim to run this course two times a year, usually once in the Autumn and once in the Summer.

Marriage Course
The Marriage Course is a seven week evening course designed to help any married or cohabiting couple strengthen their relationship.
The course covers:
- Building strong foundations
- The art of communication
- Resolving conflict
- The power of forgiveness
- Impact of family past and present
- Good sex
- Love in action
The aim is to help couples build a healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. The course will provide you with practical tools to strengthen your relationship and will give you the time and space to discuss any difficult issues, enabling you to break bad habits and grow good ones to enable your marriage to grow.
Each evening begins with a meal at a candlelit table for two, and encompasses live talks, DVD clips and exercises for couples to work through together. There are no group discussions.

Marriage Matters
Marriage matters are occasional evenings (two to three per year) where we consider a common issue within marriage relationships. Each evening involves a meal and the chance to have a great time together with your spouse. Please look out for the next Marriage Matters in the congregational Sunday programmes.
